About Gamepad Tester

Hi — I'm the person behind Edhir Games (on this platform, you can call me Cade), and this is the tester I wish I'd had when my DS4 died on me. It's free, there's nothing to install, and it answers exactly one question as fast as possible: is my controller actually working?

Edhir (எதிர்) is Tamil for against — going the other way to how things are usually done. That's the whole idea behind the studio: rebellion, revolution, and revival.

Why I built it

Honestly? Because every other one annoyed me-

  1. They are too plain (I knew I could do them better).
  2. Some of them are barely functional.

I wanted the opposite — something that loads instantly, doesn't demand anything from you, and actually feels like it belongs to games. So I skinned the whole thing like a retro arcade cabinet: scanlines, neon, and a pixel controller that lights up as you press things, and don't forget- Cade!!!

Say hello to Cade (Cade is me, me is Cade)

That's Cade. He's a controller who tests controllers, which is either very useful or slightly recursive depending on how you look at it. He also writes everything here — every guide on this site goes out under his name.

Cade watches the tester. He's asleep when nothing's plugged in, wakes up the moment your pad connects, concentrates while he's reading your inputs, and pulls a face when something's wrong. If Cade looks worried, it means you need to check your sticks.

Who it's for

  • Anyone who bought a new gamepad and wants to check whether it's working fine before the return window closes.
  • Someone who's suspecting drift on their controller, but doesn't want to open the thing up for nothing.
  • Or someone who's simply curious to find out what their controller is really reporting (it's more than you'd think).

You can pair the pad over Bluetooth (or with a cable) and test it out on this website.
